Exception and time limits for certain items listed below
Returns made within 30 days of purchase with original sales receipt
Returns made within 30 days must be accompanied by the original sales receipt. Such returns are entitled to a complete refund by original method of payment.
Originally paid with cash, you will receive a cash refund.
Originally paid with credit card, you will receive a refund only on the same credit card used. Otherwise you will receive a RPC store credit.
Originally paid with RPC store credit, you will receive a RPC store credit.
Returns made without original sales receipt
If you do not have the original sales receipt, RPC will issue a store credit totaling the value of the merchandise only. Sale price if item is on sale.
Returns made after 30 days of purchase
Merchandise returned after 30 days of purchase will be issued a store credit totaling the value of the merchandise, whether a receipt is presented or not.
If you do not have a sales receipt and the item was on sale in the past 60 days, your credit will be for the lowest sale price. RPC reserves the right to refuse the return of any item we see as unfit.
Defective merchandise will be handled according to the manufacturer’s warranty. It will either be fixed, replaced, or store credit will be issued.
If merchandise packaging is missing, damaged, or opened, RPC reserves the right to refuse the return of said item(s.) Such returns may be subject to a restocking fee of our discretion.
Opened Dog Food may be returned for store credit.
NO RETURNS on dog beds, plastic kennels and carriers, wire dog crates, small animal cages, and bird cages after 24 hours of purchase. Such returns must be unused and, or unopened.
Dog, Cat, Bird and Small Animal Toy’s durability
Holiday and Seasonal items may be returned during the same season they are displayed. However, cash will not be refunded. Store credit only. No returns on holiday items (items specific to a holiday) will be accepted after 7 day from the holiday the item was displayed for
Clothing (sweaters, boots, jackets, etc…) must be returned within 48 hours with original tags attached and/or in original packaging.
No Return on Light bulbs.
No Return allowed on any items sold as a closeout or final sale item.
No Returns allowed on Books, Magazines, Cards, Elizabethan Collars, Muzzles, Sanitary Products (Diapers, Male Wraps, etc.) or Opened/Used Grooming Utensils.
No Returns on used aquariums, cages and open supplies.
All livestock sales are considered final sales. If a return is necessary, we will issue a replacement or store credit. NO CASH REFUNDS ON LIVESTOCK.
We at Rumford Pet Center offer a Health Guarantee for all of our small animals, birds, reptiles, fish, and coral. However, we do not guarantee temperament and tameness. We will make every effort to educate you about handling your new pet. Under no circumstances will Rumford Pet Center pay veterinarian bills accrued due to the illness, death or injury of an animal purchased from one of our locations.
We will accept returns under the terms and conditions of each of their warranties.
Animals such as Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Hamsters, Sugar Gliders and Hedgehogs come with a 14 Day Health Guarantee. If the animal should become seriously ill or dies within the first 14 days after purchase, you will need to return the animal, along with your receipt for examination to try to determine the cause of illness or death. If upon examination we find that the animal has died of natural causes or an illness that may have originated before it left our store, we will replace the animal with another or issue a store credit. On the other hand, if we find that the animal has become ill or has died due to neglect or mishandling, no replacement or store credit will be given.
Ferrets come with a 1 year guarantee through Marshall’s Ferrets. See an employee for further details.
Parakeets, Lovebirds, Cockatiels and other small birds come with a 14 Day Health Guarantee. The same terms and conditions as above apply.
Fresh Water Fish come with a 7 Day Health Guarantee. If the fish should become ill or die within 7 days of purchase, you will need to return the fish, along with a separate water sample for testing.
